The second whisk(e)y in the row…. an Irish one

For the second whisk(e)y i chose a soft whiskey with a smooth aftertaste from Ireland.
It’s the Connemara peated single malt’s turn to be opened.

Connemara is one of the few whiskies from the Cooley distillery. This whiskey was a whole new brand for a totally new whiskey. This whiskey is a “peated malt”. In Ireland, in  history this led to a big commotion among the other distilleries. The Cooley distillery used turf for the first time in the history of Irish whiskey. That was not the tradition, which was held by Ireland, in the brewing of whiskey.

  • Name: Connemara
  • Country: Ireland
  • Type: Single Malt
  • Price per standard amount: € 25,-
After the tasting and the sniffing of this fine whisk(e)y, this is my thinking.

  • Color: Soft golden
  • Nose: Smoke and turf, flowers, honey
  • Taste: Honey, peat, vanilla, oak
  • Finish: Smoky and long
Connamara is one delicious whiskey with a fine soft finish. If you are a starter in the whisk(e)y, this is one i would recommend.Suggestion: Connemara is one, that you can enjoy in its purity or with a small drop of water to loosen up the lovely bouquet.

Grade

I give this whiskey an 7.5 out of 10
