The Glenlivet “natural”

The whisky, that welcomed me at the Whisky Festival in Den Haag 2012.

This was the very first whisky I had that evening. And what a kickoff that was. Wauw. I had one when I was in Scotland, nothing can beat that! But, still amazing…

  • Name: Glenlivet Nadurra
  • Type: Single Malt
  • Country: Scotland
  • Price per standard amount: € 50,00

Nàdurra, is Gaelic for ‘natural’ …. But I found out, Nadurra is also a name for a boy. Sometimes with one “r” and sometimes with two times a “r’.

This whisky is very nice. Just close your eyes, use your nose and imagine, you’re somewhere with lovely singing birds, colorful fish in clear bright blue water… just tropical. When you take your first sip, you see beautiful women dancing and moving their hips, round and round. They’re trying to seduce you, to take another sip. Trust me, you will take another one!

  • Colour: Bright gold
  • Nose: Fresh and lots of tropical fruit, passion fruit, pineapple green apples, spicy aromas of summer flowers. Nice balance of sweet malt and mint tones
  • Taste: Full, lovely with hints of nuts and wild flowers, honey and toffee
  • Finish: Soft, dry and long with notes of natural sweetness

Suggestions: just pure or a very small drop of water to make is softer

I give this whisky a 9 out of 10.

  1. Probably THE whisky that gives you most value for money right now. It’s amazing compared to many much more expensive ones. Why pay big bucks for NAS whiskies with fancy gaelic names when you can get this? Ok, it has a fancy gaelic name too, but you get my point, right?!
