The little-known malt whisky distillery Teaninich is located near the center of Alness in the Highlands. In the direct surroundings are the Dalmore and Glenmorangie Distillery ….
This one is a whisky, a very special whisky! I got a little sample from Jock Shaw of this Teaninich whisky, a fine 29 yr looking one! I was very curious… you know, this is just something Whisky Girl has… the curiosity. And that’s a good thing!
- Name: Teaninich
- Type: Single Malt
- Country: Scotland
- Price per standard amount: € 104,00
The whisky was poured into a Glencairn glass. In the whisky world, this is still the number one glass! According to Richard Paterson “Like a good whisky, this glass has plenty of character.”
Let’s try this whisky with character. It looks and smells great, nice soft, amber golden color. A bit oily, really nice and warm. My mouth was feeling smooth and soft. like handcream on my tongue. As soft after washing my hands.
This made me to decide, no need to add water. This is just nice at it is, no drop goes into this whisky.
- Color: Soft amber gold
- Nose: Fruity, citrus, pineapple, sweet and nice balanced
- Taste: An oily texture, warm, spicy, bitter, citrus, tingling to the tongue and creamy
- Finish: Lovely warm, medium and spicy finish .. Oily
If you have an opportunity to let your nose and tongue being spoiled with this very nice balanced whisky. My advise? Go for it! You will regret the day you got the chance, but didn’t take it….
Suggestions: just pure.
I give this whisky an 9 out of 10.
