I’ve tasted five amazing award-winning whiskies and captured the lost gems from a bygone era of single malt Scotch whisky production.

Their maturation management created complex, well balanced and subtle single malts. The casks were carefully monitored and sampled. And when the time was right, the single malt was bottled.
Also the case for the 2005 Strathisla from independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail.
After the whisky at Angels and Alchemy at The Glenlivet, it was time to freshen up and have dinner at The Station Hotel, the Tootsbar. I had the best cheeseburger ever that night. Thinking about it again makes hungry again.
Next step was getting back to Glen Moray Distllery where we were getting entertained by Neil Ridley and Joel Harrison. The amazing duo behind Cast Strength Creative. This night they were joined by the Visitor Centre Manager and Brand Ambassador, Lain Allan. Those three could be a comedyteam any time. This night was all about discover the Whisky from the roots, an amazing tasting adventure.
Wednesday, November 16, the night of the Gordon & MacPhail Tweet Tasting everyone was looking forward to. This night me and several others got the chance to try five new Gordon & MacPhail expressions.
For over one hundred and twenty years Gordon & MacPhail has been very careful matched spirits with oak.
Recently I received a group of friends by mail. Five sample bottles and one came a few days later, small friends sent by Gordon & MacPhail. A group of six close friends, that opened their friendship to me and and let me take a look into their hearts and souls.
All part of the believe of “The Wood Makes the Whisky” is to show the key element in the maturation process.
