Looking across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran from the Ayrshire mainland on a clear day fascinated me as a child. Trips to Arran with my family and school excursions felt like I was a million miles away from anywhere.

On a rare Scottish sunny day, the Isle of Arran resembles the Caribbean with palm trees dotted around and blue shimmering seas at every turn. Arran is an Island I had grown to love and that love affair has never ended. It has only got stronger since the Isle of Arran Distillers were born.

Isle of Arran Distillers sponsor new multi-arts Robert Burns Festival

Award winning scotch producer, Arran Distillers will be sponsoring Burns Unbroke, the inaugural multi-arts Robert Burns festival, at the Summerhall in Edinburgh this coming January.

The maker of the only official Burns Single Malt will be supporting the first Burns Unbroke festival as a headline sponsor alongside Creative Scotland and Scotland.org. They are also planning exciting events to celebrate the Bard including whisky masterclasses.

Running for six weeks from the 25th January 2018, the program will celebrate the plethora of artistic and performing talent in Scotland, and beyond, through the prism offered by new interpretations of the life and work of Robert Burns.

Master Distiller James MacTaggart toasts 10 Years at the Isle of Arran Distillery

This year, Master Distiller James MacTaggart celebrates his 10th anniversary at the Isle of Arran Distillery and an incredible 40 years in the Scotch whisky industry.

To celebrate, he has created a unique limited edition bottling that marks his first full decade of creating whisky on the Isle of Arran. This fresh and vibrant expression of The Arran Malt has been carefully blended by James from a selection of first fill Bourbon Barrels from his first months of production in 2007.

Final chapter in the Smugglers story

Isle of Arran Distillers release ultimate bottling in history-inspired trilogy.

The award-winning Isle of Arran Distillery will release the final edition in its highly celebrated Smugglers’ Series on the 12th July. This bottling marks the conclusion of the much-lauded trilogy which honours the exuberant character of those striving to outwit the Government’s representatives in the pursuit of the production of the famed ‘Arran Waters’.

Like proceeding volumes, ‘The Illicit Stills’ and ‘The High Seas’, Smugglers’ Series vol.3: ‘The Exciseman’ is presented in packaging that mimics a beautiful hardbound book, complete with a cut-out compartment that conceals the bottle.
