Pairing the award-winning cheese and whisky of the Isle of Arran.
As we head into winter and the days get shorter, one thing is certain; cheese knives around the country will be dusted off for the forthcoming seasonal indulgence. Before you reach for your favourite bottle of plonk, however, it could be time for a change.
The award-winning Scotch whisky producer, Isle of Arran Distillers have produced three cask matured whiskies which will liven up any cheese board.
This year, Master Distiller James MacTaggart celebrates his 10th anniversary at the Isle of Arran Distillery and an incredible 40 years in the Scotch whisky industry.
To celebrate, he has created a unique limited edition bottling that marks his first full decade of creating whisky on the Isle of Arran. This fresh and vibrant expression of The Arran Malt has been carefully blended by James from a selection of first fill Bourbon Barrels from his first months of production in 2007.
Isle of Arran Distillers release ultimate bottling in history-inspired trilogy.
The award-winning Isle of Arran Distillery will release the final edition in its highly celebrated Smugglers’ Series on the 12th July. This bottling marks the conclusion of the much-lauded trilogy which honours the exuberant character of those striving to outwit the Government’s representatives in the pursuit of the production of the famed ‘Arran Waters’.
Like proceeding volumes, ‘The Illicit Stills’ and ‘The High Seas’, Smugglers’ Series vol.3: ‘The Exciseman’ is presented in packaging that mimics a beautiful hardbound book, complete with a cut-out compartment that conceals the bottle.

The tasting was the 22nd of April. From a distance I followed the fellow nippers
And not much later I have written my own findings.
