Scallywag, a whisky with inspiration

At the Whisky Festival Den Haag I had the privilege to try the Scallywag.

Douglas Laing & Co created a small batch of blended Speyside malt whisky 46% named Scallywag. This batch was inspired by the family’s long line of Fox Terriers. Look at the face on that bottle!

  • Name: Scallywag
  • Country: Scotland
  • Type: Blended Malt
  • Price per standard amount: € 40,-

There is a sad feeling behind the release of this whisky. On the day of the launch of this whisky, the one toothed Fox Terrier of Douglas Laing went to sleep forever. This Blended Malt is one fantastic reminder of a sweet and lovely dog with his picture forever on the bottle.

I was drinking this whisky as a toast to the source of inspiration, Binks the one tooth Fox Terrier, sláinte!

Suggestions: Pure, but you can add one drop of water for a more gentle flavor.

I give this whisky an 8.5 out of 10.
