Review: Gordon & MacPhail Mannochmore 1999

Mannochmore Distillery 1999 is an 18 yr old single malt scotch whisky from Speyside. This stunning single malt was distilled on Monday, August 23 1999 and bottled on Monday, July 16 2018.

The casktype that was used for this whisky was a refill sherry butt. The outturn of the Mannochmore Distillery 1999 release is 587 bottles.

This whisky is part of the Gordon & MacPhail range to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Connoisseurs Choice. A range that remains true to George Urquhart’s original vision and philosophy.

Gordon & MacPhail Mannochmore Distillery 1999 – 46%

  • Color: Light gold
  • Nose: Very sweet, sultana’s, red apples, warm prunes, cinnamon, hints of spicy kitchen herbs, tobacco leafs, mandarin and a complexity of mint chocolate and lemon notes
  • Taste: Sherry notes, a bit oily with the taste of smashed red apples, peaches, peppery, salty edges, cinnamon-cake, marzipan, complexity of mandarin, oranges, lemon, kiwi, creamy dark chocolate, peppermint hints and dragon-fruit.
  • Finish: Creamy and full bodied
