Hendrick’s Gin, a genius in a bottle

Time to add another Gin to the family, Hendrick’s Gin from Scotland. The bottle reminds me of the pharmacy years back, love the style. It is a bit mysterious, but this is the look, Hendrick’s is known worldwide.

With the ingredients bulgarian rose and cucumber that has been added in the end of the process, they add extra dimension to the gin. And that makes this gin with a 41,4% alcohol percentage stunning.

The tastingnotes:

  • Color: Transparant
  • Nose: Citrus, fresh, lime, vanilla, mandarin, grapefruit, anise, elderflower
  • Taste: Fresh, flowery, citrus notes, squeezed lemon, grapefruit, wet grass
  • Finish: Smooth and refreshing

You can enjoy Hendrick’s Gin pure straight from the bottle, but you can also make a amazing cocktail with a various of different ingredients. I haven’t tried it with this particular gin, but new idea’s are always welcome.

Celery sour, with the Treasury of Tipples from Hendrick’s Gin

Character:
Bitter , Fruity , Creamy

Skill level:
Intermediate

Ingredients:
50ml Hendrick’s Gin
25ml Fresh Lemon Juice
12.5ml Pineapple Juice
12.5ml Sugar Syrup
Barspoon Celery Bitters
Dash Pasteurised Egg White

Preparation:
Place all ingredients into shaker and “dry” shake. Fill with cubed ice and shake vigorously again. Double strain into a martini glass/coupette.
