The Glen Grant 1954, single malt, is a release, that blew me away. For a vintage, this whisky is noteworthy fresh and a delight for the nose and taste buds.
Gordon & MacPhail Rare Vintage – Glen Grant 1954 (40%)
- Color: Amber
- Nose: Lime, melon, pineapple, strawberries, ripe bananas, leather, aniseed and hints of light citrus and mango
- Taste: Smooth, oily, lime, honeydew melon, complexity of red fruit, coconut, vanilla and warm grapefruit with menthol influences
- Finish: Lovely warm and lingering
What struck me is that this single malt, is very tropical after the first smell. When I closed my eyes, and thought of an island, it was a true match. Perhaps it helped because I was sitting in the sun, but nevertheless, it struck me, positively.
Gordon & MacPhail is in my heart forever.
“Whisky is liquid sunshine.”
– George Bernard Shaw
Suggestion: Add one drop of water and you will notice that the aroma is even more tropical. Loved it.
