Again, one of the mystical range of whisky and again a true spooky beast has been released. What a fantastic whisky this is, Cù Bòcan Vintage 1988 (51.5%). Only 2200 bottles released, which have been aged for 28 years in sherry casks.
What a feast it was for me to nose and taste this beauty. When you have a chance to try the Vintage 1988, don’t hesitate and take it with your nose, tongue. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed. But when you do, one advice, let it linger for a couple of seconds in your mouth for the perfect experience
Hereby are my tasting notes, with a big growl.
- Color: Lovely golden
- Nose: Smoky, coconut, crushed oily almonds and walnuts, combination of banana, citrus and tropical breeze
- Taste: Rich, warm, smoked nuts covered with honey, juicy citrusfruit, lemon pie and kitchen spices
- Finish: Lovely warm, smoky and lingering
The vintage creation is currently being rolled out worldwide and retails at £199. A list of stockists can be found here www.tomatin.com
A heavily peated Islay casks to infuse their naturally light spirit with an earthy, distinctive flavour
Suggestions: just pure, no ice. Just unleash the beast like it comes out of the bottle.
Grade: 8 out of 10
