Bushmills 10 yr .. to fall for

This time a favorite of mine. A few of my regular viewers had guest this one in my Guess section

The first sip, which I had two years ago was in a Irish Pub in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. This whiskey has a great smell, and the taste was just fantastic. I thought I wasn’t there anymore .. your senses are being spoiled.

As the title already says, this review is about the one and only Bushmills 10 yr, yes!

Bushmills is named after the city where it is distilled. It has two mills on the banks of the River Bush which runs past the distillery. Bushmills whiskey is still distilled in the Old Bushmills Distillery. This is the world’s oldest whiskey distillery with a license.

  • Name: Bushmills
  • Country: Ireland
  • Type: Single Malt
  • Price per standard amount: € 35,95
If you’re looking for a new whiskey to love, and this is one you haven’t tried …. buy a bottle.  You’re doing yourself a big favor and it gives you a lot of pleasure as well.  One sip at the time, close your eyes in the mean time, and enjoy this Single Malt every single second.

  • Colour: Pale Gold
  • Nose: Warm, sweet, spicy aromas of vanilla, honey.
  • Taste: Soft fruit, malt, spices and honey with a sweet aftertaste.
  • Finish: Soft finish, It goes down very smoothly, You feel the warmth, spice & pepper slide.

This whiskey is one of the finest, I’ve ever tasted. It gives you a warm feeling inside.

Bushmills is an ideal whiskey to close a hard working day in the summer months (applies for every day). Best place to drink this one is in the garden. But now, if I have a peek outside, it’s more rain than sunshine at the moment.
Luckily I’m a sweet little sunshine.

Suggestions: Just Pure, some drops of water or little pieces of ice.

I give this whiskey an 8,5 out of 10.

  1. I love your passion. I love the sweet and simple taste of Bushmills. I get a bit of mint. It just tastes “green” to me – green like Ireland. I may have been a bit hard on this one but Bushmills 10 is so polite and well behaved I found it a bit boring. I found the flavor signature to be very similar to Black Bush. I prefer the ones where they do an extra step or two of barrel management: Bushmills 16 (3 woods) and Bushmills 1608 (crystal malt and 2 woods).

    • Sometimes on an adventure, you’ve to taste someting that is polite and well behaved.. as you call it 🙂
