Masataka Taketsuru founded Japan’s whisky industry. He was born in 1894 in Takehara, Hiroshima to a family that had owned a sake brewery since 1733. The Scotch whisky captured the young man’s imagination, as well as the interest of few other enterprising Japanese of that day. He decided to dedicate his life to whisky.
He is also called “Father of Japanese Whisky”.
Like the pure malt Whisky this range is made of composite whiskies from distilleries of Nikka. But considering the number of malts that in both locations is made it’s hard to guess which element comes from what distillery.
Considering the lovely and sweet chocolate and the smell of cigar, it’s suitable for men and women. This is an adventurous whisky. I had a sample, enough to write this review, but if someone is having a bottle to many and feels generous!.. It’s a hint!
I have a tiny weakness for Japan. I love the Japanese maple tree, the Japanese prints on cups, dishes, and so on. I love anime, manga specifically and the whisky!
Suggestions: Just Pure…. or small drops of water…. When it’s hot, like now, Ice cubes!
I give this whisky an 8 out of 10.
