Johanne Mcinnis came up with a fantastic idea to organize a Bushmills Black Bush Flash Mob on Sint Patricks Day. The point of this Flash Mob is to have as many Whisk(e)y writers, bloggers and vloggers to post about this whiskey on this day.
Who would Whisky Girl be, if she didn’t join this fantastic idea of Johanne! The first step was getting the whiskey. Lucky for me someone was so generous to sent me a sample.
- Name: Bushmills
- Type: Premium blend
- Country: Ireland
- Price per standard amount: € 25,00
The second step was going Into the Black Bush! There are numerous ways you can celebrate this great day. You can go to one of St Patrick’s festivals in Ireland, with outdoor concerts, carnival, a big parade and fireworks etcetera. Or drinking, enjoying and sharing the findings about Bushmills Black Bush whiskey and celebrate this day slightly different.
This whiskey from Bushmills Range has a distinctive taste. A full body aroma with spices, sweet nuts and cherry makes the difference. What I like about this whiskey is the long and lingering aftertaste with exactly the right sweetness.
- Color: Nice golden
- Nose: Notes of barley, grapes, citrus, lemon and lavender
- Taste: A very fruity and soft taste, a bit buttery! especially long,
- Finish: Light peppery and middle long with soft notes of licorice
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated worldwide, mostly in the USA and Australia, countries where many of the Irish have emigrated. Like in Ireland, there are parades and other festivities. Did you know that the number of people in the USA claiming to be descendants from Irish ancestors, is ten times larger as the total population of Ireland? Amazing isn’t it.
This reminds me of the singer Macklemore and Ryan Lewis with their song: Irish Celebration. Singing about St. Patrick’s day and being proud to be an Irishman. In stead of putting the entire lyric here, just lean back and listen! Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – “Irish Celebration”
Suggestions: pure or with a small drop of water
I give this whisky a 8,5 out of 10.
